Franziska Gerken

Ph.D. candidate


After a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Utrecht, Franziska Gerken obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from University of Münster. During her studies, she spent a year at Pierre and Marie Curie University (UPMC) in Paris as an exchange student. In her Master's, she specialized in Algebra and Stochastics and wrote her thesis in the area of Function Fields, more specific about admissibility of z-isocrstals. During her thesis, she had the opportunity to spend a semester as a visiting student at the University of Maryland. In 2020, she started a Ph.D. position at the Dynamic Vision and Learning group under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Laura Leal-Taixé.
